There are also numerous national initiatives in place to support this wonderful way of teaching computer science skills. At primary level, there is the Barefoot Computing program and at secondary level there is the CAS Tenderfoot program. Additionally, there is the Digital Schoolhouse52 project by UK Interactive Entertainment (UKie) who run workshops for pupils aged 4–11. If you are new to this subject or need to ‘brush up’ on any computer science concepts, participate in a Barefoot workshop and then build upon your knowledge. (Note that the Barefoot programme has been adapted for Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.)
